How to Play Tricks with the End Portal in Minecraft? Netizens: Is This Even Possible?

As the boss mob of Minecraft, the Ender Dragon lives in a different world from the players. To reach and slay the dragon, one must collect Ender Pearls, locate a Stronghold in the Overworld, and activate the End Portal!

So, how much do you fellow adventurers know about the End Portal?

01. How to Find the End Portal

The method most aligned with Minecraft‘s mechanics is to use thrown Ender Pearls for triangulation. However, with bad luck, this process can consume a huge number of Ender Pearls over dozens or even hundreds of throws!

Besides the most common method of using Ender Pearl throws to locate the Stronghold, there’s also a “scientific” calculation method researched by foreign experts! It involves recording the trajectory lines from a very small number of throws.

Plotting the intersection points of these trajectory lines reveals locations that have a very high probability of being where the End Portal is situated!

But remember, when plotting these lines, ensure you move a sufficient distance between throws—about 100 blocks should do.

02. Make Attached Blocks Stand Alone!

As we all know, blocks like Bamboo and Vines need to be attached to other blocks; otherwise, they cannot support themselves and become item drops. However, if you place them in the center of the End Portal frame…

…the moment the portal is activated, these normally attached blocks can exist independently! Note, though, that in this state, if you break them or place other blocks on them, they will still turn into item drops.

There is one exception: Scaffolding. Even in this suspended state, you can still place other scaffolding blocks on top of and around it~

03. Invisible Blocks

When a two-block-tall structure is placed in the middle of the End Portal frame base, activating the portal will cause these blocks to disappear.

But magically, they enter a state of being gone but not completely gone. Look closely—their collision hitbox is still there! In this state, if you right-click on this hitbox to open a door or left-click to break it, then all the connected two-block-tall blocks will turn into item drops together!

04. Give the Ender Dragon a Bath!

The End Portal has a small quirk: most things that pass through it are teleported to the End as entities. So, I had a wild thought—what if we first submerge the End Portal with water and then activate it? Could the water be teleported to the End?

Could it really lead to a situation where the Ender Dragon’s palace gets flooded?
